Conflict Resolution sessions for Year 8
during Anti-Bullying Week
The College is working with the British Red
Cross on creating sessions with Year 8’s to look at
making the right choices and decisions and why it is important to
resolve issues and dissolve conflict.
Amery Hill School, Alton, Hants
The School
have various activities organised for Anti-Bullying Week:
Assemblies will give anti-bullying messages
Tutor group activity: Creating a communication charter
Tutor group activity: Displaying post-its messages about verbal
bullying on the Anti-Bullying Art graffiti board
The Angry Society will hold a debate about bullying
The School is carrying out an anti-bullying survey
The School Librarian will provide a list of help books about
bullying
There will be a poster competition for Years 7/8
Plus the School will have Anti-bullying bracelets on sale and will
distribute Anti-bullying leaflets

Children and Young People’s Anti-Bullying
Equalities Group
Wednesday 16th November - The group will meet with council officers
to discuss the nature of bullying prevalent in local schools and to
map out a strategy that schools can adopt. Crucial to this are the
involvement of children and young people in devising anti-bullying
procedures in each school and connecting up with the Council’s
Anti-Bullying Strategy Group. This latter group has been meeting
for some time but has not yet included the perspective of children
and young people. Target audience: KS2, KS3, KS4

Thursday 17th November
BSCS have invited all South Glos secondary schools and some from
Bristol to attend this student event. Some of the schools will be
showcasing their approaches to dealing with bullying. South West
Grid for Learning will also be presenting on social networking and
Beatbullying will be presenting to the conference regarding their
Cybermentor programme.
Holy Family Primary School, Sale Moor,
Cheshire
The School have organised a poetry
competition for primary school children in the Sale, Cheshire area
based on this year's Anti-Bullying Week theme 'Stop and Think,
words can hurt'. The competition is sponsored by a local
bookshop, Urmston Books, and the winner will get a £10 book voucher
and the school will get a £100 book voucher. The winning poem and
the runners up will be displayed in Sale Library during
Anti-Bullying Week.
Humberston Park School, Humberston, North East
Lincolnshire
The School have arranged activities for
KS3 and 4. The Student Council have made posters and have collected
booklets for all classes to discuss. The Community Police are
visiting the School and will give a talk.
Oasis Academy Immingham, North East
Lincolnshire
During Anti-Bullying Week, all year
groups Y7 –Y13 will be involved in the various activities the
Academy has planned: creating an anti-bullying student council and
an email for students to send in their concerns about bullying;
delivering assemblies and tutor lessons on anti-bullying; training
students in restorative justice and to become mediators.

A range
of activities have been organised for Foundation, KS1 KS2.
7th/16th/17th November - Challenging homophobia taster
workshop.
7th November - Performance about dealing with bullying.
15th-18th November - SEAL based activities to support anti-bullying
week. School focus cyber bullying.
16th November - Staff Training to meet OFSTED criteria to eradicate
prejudice-motivated bullying.
17th November - Pupil assembly with Shaftesbury Safer Neighbourhood
Team.
St. Joseph’s, Crayford, Kent
The School
are holding an Anti-Bullying Assembly for KS2 pupils on Monday 14th
November.
St. Joseph’s RC Primary, Loftus,
Saltburn
From 14th – 17th November, the School has
planned arrange of activities: ‘own clothes’ Blue Monday; the
School Council and the anti-bullying Co-ordinator will run a whole
school assembly; an Anti-bullying Lunch.
Weelsby Primary, Grimsby, North East
Lincolnshire
The School are holding a Friendship
week/e-safety week for Anti-Bullying Week for all their pupils age
3-11. Activities include: Assembly - Monday. E-safety lessons in
each class. Multi activity friendship day.
Willow Bank Children’s Hospital School,
Leicester
Throughout Anti-Bullying Week, the School
held a range of activities for Key Stages 3 and 4 including daily
assemblies using films and film clips. Assemblies, taken by a
different member of staff each day, showed short video clips mainly
from YouTube. The film watched on Wednesday was “Skin”. Also a new
set of anti-bullying posters was put up in school, including some
in new areas. Staff were reminded of the School’s anti-bullying
policy during a staff meeting.
