Julie Oakley wins recognition for Bullywatch advice
service
The Anti-bullying Alliance would like to congratulate Julie
Oakley for winning the SW region Pride of Britain award. The gong
was given in recognition of Julie’s work setting up the Bullywatch
advice line and website.
Julie was inspired to set up Bullywatch in 2001, after her own
daughter was the victim of bullying at school. At the time, Julie
found it difficult to access support for her daughter or the rest
of her family.
To solve this problem Bullywatch was set up to give help and
support to those who suffer distress and anguish because of
bullying. Bullywatch offers a Helpline (01454 318753) and advice
via its website www.bullywatch.org
Julie is now being entered into the national finals of Pride of
Britain which will be judged in November and televised on ITV.
