The Anti-bullying Alliance, would like to congratulate Carrie Herbert on being awarded an MBE in the 2012 New Year’s Honours list for her services to education.

Nearly 200 young people have benefited from the programme of academic and personal and social education provided at Red Ballon Learner Centres set up by the charity that Carrie founded. Recovering from the effects of the bullying and unkind treatment they have sustained, their self-esteem is restored, they re-discover their love of learning, come to terms with their past experiences, get back on an academic track, and return to mainstream education, once again able to participate in life.
